2023 Program Initiatives

  • AISD – Job Readiness Program – AHLEI Hotel Training and Certification, Knowledge Matters Simulation Program and Hotel Internships

  • Francis Kobty Hospitality Scholarship (TCC) for Culinary Arts Students
  • TCC Milestones Mentoring Coaching Program
  • Bridge Scholarship – Scholarships awarded to two students who participate in the TCC Culinary Arts Open House and enroll in Culinary Arts at TCC in the fall.

  • UT Arlington Milestones Mentoring Coaching Program
  • Industry Mentoring Program for college scholarship recipients

  • Speakers Bureau industry leader-led presentations that introduce students to travel and tourism career pathways and opportunities
  • AISD Career Fair – career fair for culinary arts students. The event will be held in partnership with the Texas Hotel and Lodging Association and TSLF.
  • AISD Symposium – a half-day session that will bring AISD educators and tourism employers together to discuss the current and future tourism employment needs, job and educational opportunities and career pathways for area youth
  • Take 5! Video segments will feature industry professionals who work in the hospitality, sports, and entertainment organizations in Arlington, and who have risen through the ranks within their respective organizations and speak to job/career opportunities in their organizations. The videos will include a link to job postings for the organization featured in the video.
  • TSLF Annual Meeting will be held during National Travel & Tourism Week on May 9, 2023. The program celebrates tourism and the impact that tourism has had on the Arlington economy.
  • TSLF will partner with industry partners and community based organizations to host several fundraising events and partnership initiatives.
  • TSLF offers two scholarship annually to UT Arlington Kinesiology Sports Leadership & Management Program Students

2020 Program Initiatives

  • AISD Symposium – a half-day session that will bring AISD educators and tourism employers together to discuss the current and future tourism employment needs, job and educational opportunities and career pathways for area youth
  • TCC Day – a program introducing AISD CTC Culinary Arts & Hospitality Services Program students to TCC Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management Programs including scholarship opportunities
  • Hospitality Training Program – a training program developed to address the employment needs of the community and tourism stakeholders including soft skills training
  • Leadership Development Training – in collaboration with Leadership Arlington and Youth Leadership Arlington, scholarships will be offered to persons interested in leadership roles in travel, tourism and sports management

  • Full-tuition scholarships for Tarrant County College Southeast Campus Hospitality Management & Culinary Arts Program students
  • Annual Scholarship for UT Arlington Kinesiology Sports Leadership & Management Program students and internship placements
